One of my C Melody Sax's
To the right you'll see me playing a note or two for our children in our Studio at Catawba Heights Baptist Church. I'm on my C melody Sax, a vintage model from the 1920's. It's got a sweet sound and is silver plate. I believe it's a Conn Stencil, but I'll have to get back to you on that. Anybody out there got a C Melody?

My new old Baritone Sax!
You can see both lower tone holes are on the "leg" side of the bell. Also notice where the lacquer finish is coming off has a very reddish tent.
The bell has York Artist engraved in very thick chubby letters with a lot of lines and swirls at the top. I saw this same design on some baritones that were from the same school.
It's a York Artist. The only other thing written is a number: 1688 below the thumb rest. I assume it is a serial number. Anyone know where or when this was made. If it's Grand Rapids, it could be pretty old, but might be a stencil by Buescher or Conn or something. It reminds me of my 1970 vintage Bundy Selmer Alto. Any ideas please post.
All info. welcome.
